That is exactly the same problem!
We have even tried sourcing power from another computer into the graphics card but that doesnt seem to work either. Maybe the cards are broken or faulty? Or maybe this computer has issues with this specific card...
Anyway it's good to see I am not alone with this problem

I know it´s a old thread, but solving simmilar problem. Z600 with GTX470, starting and working OK, just when the card is under load (using it for powering Adobe SW - GPU enabled rendering in Premiere) it crash whole PC.
Any ideas, if is possible to upgrade (or rebuild) the PSU to let say 1000W?

Hi,
I also have problem like this.
Z600 and graphic card ATI Sapphire HD7950. PSU 650w. 7950 powered through one 6 Pin PCI-E connector from PSU, and other 4 Pin Molex to 6 Pin PCI-E Power Adapter. Workstation starts, green light on, but no boot action, no video signal.
With ATI Sapphire HD7850 - no problem. System requirements for both cards are the same:
2X75 Watt 6-pin PCI Express power connector is required.
500 Watt Power Supply is required.
On HP xw9400 Workstation both card run perfectly.
