Hello vtrudell2,
Check your connections. Make sure the hard drive is properly connected to all the internal cables.
When you start up the computer do you hear the hard drive spin up or spind down? Sounds like your hard drive may have failed.

Hello vtrudell2,
If it is indeed your hard drive that is failed then yes you are reinstalling Windows 7 and resetting up your computer.
You may want to swap the hard drive out and ensure it is the hard drive before purchasing another.
