Despite the HP model number not matching, that same 3.00 BIOS that was uploaded should work with your computer, pokey. It's the same motherboard so really nothing else matters. To fix my no monitor at all even after XP boots problem, I threw in a PCI-E graphics card just to see what was going on and luckily that still l works.
Then just go download sp35111 from HP, which is the 3.10 BIOS update that just broke your computer, unzip it and when it gets to that "are you sure" part, don't click yes or no, just go download Process Explorer from Microsoft. Then run that and find the process near the bottom that says installer.exe under sp35111's process and right click and hit properties. Then look at the location that it launched from. It should be something like:
C:\DOCUME~1\user\LOCALS~1\Temp\pft5.tmp\
with user being your username on that computer. It's actuallyC then Documents and Settings then your name then local settings then temp then something similar to pft5.tmp. Copy that entire path from processor explorer than go to Run on the start menu and past it in and tada, it opens up the temp folder that the update is running from. And OH LOOK it's a copy Winflash that the update silently runs in the background 
so double click on Winflash and it will open a sweet BIOS updater program. Download that version 3.00 that someone posted a link to on rapidshare and save it to your desktop or something. Then in Winflash click on the file menu then Update BIOS and it will send you to go looking for the BIOS ROM file you want to load into your BIOS chip. Select that 3.00 version, NOT THE 3.10 ONE INCLUDED IN THE UPDATE, and tada, it loads that one into your BIOS chip to replace the 3.10 one.
P.S. you can probably just find and download Winflash somewhere online, I think it's free. Then you can skip all that "what temp file did the HP update just extract all that too?" part with process explorer.
