Is there such thing as a HP '"case manager"? Day 8 of promises to speak w 1 re motherboard fire !

My HP Pavilion Elite e9180t struggled since bought in Nov09. Complete lock up in Jan -lost hard drive.  HP could not recover. Geek squad could $160.  Computer sent to HP and returned better - only lock ups 1-2 times/week.  Started up Nov28 and smoke poured out of case.  Lucky I was there to shut off power and prevent escalation of motherboard fire !  Oponed case and found big burn and melted spot in motherboard.  Same MB that was replaced for free for those that saw the lawsuit details and found the timeline on HP's web page.  I missed the deadline by days, and it appears no one at HP will discuss with me.

Several overseas friends in tech support have tried to assure me that my expired warranty problem has been escalated to case manager.  24-48 hrs.  Now 8 days and 6 phone calls and still unable to speak to supervisor/manager anyone who could care less.  So, my free replacement motherboard that has caught fire is now my problem.

Also assured that for 90 they could replace power pack which is the problem.  I asked about hole in motherboard and was assured it would work fine with replaced power pack.  Warning HP - need a little more training with your folks.  As an engineer I feel like I am qualified enough to understand the big burnt hole in my motherboard might cause some changes in performance despite the assurances from your tech people.  I have called the California consumer complaint department 2 days ago as well and yes no returned call.  Any advice on how to speak with someone with some sense at HP would be appreciated.  Next letter to BBB.

Sorry, this reads too much like a rant. Did motherboard replacement for the Elite e9180t solve blue screen crash problems or do I junk the computer? BTW not student - engineering manager
