Pavilion Elite m9367.sc won't boot with USB cable connected to Dell 2407WFP Monitor

As long as I have the USB cable conected to the USB Hub in my Dell monitor, the computer will not boot past the big blue HP-logo. If I pull out the cord, boot, and then insert the cord when Windows starts booting, it all works nice.

I really don't reboot my machine, but Windows Update does. It's rather annoying having to pull out the cord.

I really can't se how this could be solved software-wise. Maybee it's a hardware-tweak that will work? Any ideas? Thanks,

Roy, Norway

Do you have the most up to date driver for your monitor?

I am not familiar with that monitor.  Is the USB hub part of the monitor or is the USB hub a separate item of the monitor?

In this forum, clicking on Kudos is a great way of saying thanks.  :smileywink:

I'm having this same issue (although with a totally different computer).  I have a feeling it's completely in the monitor itself.  Unless there is some kind of a firmware upgrade for the motherboard that you might be able to use.

Kudos to you!!  I had the same problem with HP Pavilion Elite e9120f desktop connected to a Dell flatscreen - it would only start up to the blue HP logo. I did not have a built in USB hub but I have a "Belkin 2.0 4-port hub" connected to the PC. I found your thread and noted the similarities - soooo, I unplugged the hub.

IT WORKED!!!!

Much thanks to you all,
