Pavilion Slimline Will Not Start

I'm having trouble with my HP Pavilion Slimline s7700n. It shut down after a power outage Monday and now I cannot get it to reboot. 

 

When the power button is pressed, the lights come on, the fan spins, the power supply indicator light comes on, but nothing else happens. The monitor displays a "no signal" message (the monitor is fine, though, as I tested it on another computer). 

 

Prior to Monday's outage, it was taking an average of two attempts to get it to boot up,  but once it was going it worked fine. 

 

Any suggestions on what the problem might be and how I can get it running? I just need to get it going to recover a couple documents I was working on before the power outage.
