Pavilion e9140f Desktop - No Bootup from BIOS after an HP update

My e9140f Desktop ($1000 desktop) crashed during an HP update in April. Now it will not detect any storage devices on bootup. HP does not list the BIOS version or supply any details of a BIOS Recovery process or any info on the SATA Controller process to enable a recovery. HP support already duped me into purchasing the Recovery Disks (not supplied when computer was purchased) and refuses to acknowledge the relative stupidity of supplying Recovery process in the partition of one dard drive, yet no recovery disks for a CD recovery, if the dard drive fails!. Since the bootup does not detect the CD/DVD drive either, Recovery disks are of little use. After reviewing other users' complaints and suggested remedies about tghis same motherboard (M2N78-LA (Violet3)), none have been successful. The system will detect a USB Floppy (no space for a recovery process and no info of the right DOS based boottup). I've tried most of the processes suggested by other users with this problem - but to no avail!

Since this problem seemed to have occurred during an HP update, it would seem that a class-action suit needs to be looked into about this problem, particularly in the light of so many users having this problem. Details of the ROM_Recovery process might be useful (not available from HP to my knowledge). Anyone out there have the same problems?
