Hi.
Helping on a old neighbour computer. Catastrophe.
HP Pavilion P6122f PC.
The computer could not boot.
Decided to try a BIOS upgrade, from 5.11 to 5.22
Computer freezes during upgrade.
Now can't restart, can't access the BIOS, all i hear are three short beeps.
which means: Unable to start flashing (such as when missing a utility or BIOS image)
I really really need to fix this, my neighbour is not rich by any means. I can i reset the BIOS?

Hi Fred,
Try clearing the CMOS and see if you get lucky.
The motherboard in that PC has a long not so good history.![]()

I cleared the CMOS, but with no luck.
Staples is supposed to be servicing HP here in Montreal. I wonder if they can replace the BIOS chip or something like that.
Of course, all they are saying when you ask them is: Bring the computer, we will evaluate the thing.

Hi Fred,
Try leaving the PC in clear CMOS mode over night.
