Screen casing coming off.

The screen casing on my HP Pavillon dv9000 is actauly starting to pop out of its holders when I open it.  It starts at the lower left hand sid of the case and slowly opens up as I move the screen back.  I can pop the case back into place, but it has come to the point where I fear that my screen itself will soon become damaged or something bad if I do not do something soon.  I've had the computer for a little over 2 years and this is the first time I have ever seen this happen.  I have not tried to glue or tape it together cause I know two things.  One, neither would work cause of all the force that the case has to seperate.  Two, I fear it will mess up my screen display horriblely.  Can someone tell me if there is quick fix I can do to this, or why this is happing?
