Touchsmart will not log off - it just hangs

My Touchsmart boots up eventually. There is eventaully an error saying that the BTTray service stack failed to open. The HP Advisor service loads but it takes at least 10 minutes.
Then when I come to log off all programs close and the machine si about to completely log off until the logging off screen seems to come back on and justhangs for eternity.
I am close to wanting to throw something out through a window.
Please help
