Usb ports malfunction

Hi all

I have a pavilion pc with windows vista.

The problem is that sometimes the usb ports stop recognizing anything and label every device as unknown

it happened before multipile times and it go back to normal after a while but the time varies

sometimes it took days some times it took 10 minutes I have tried device manager I also tried restarting and reinstalling all the drivers but it doesn't work

what shall I do
