Well I haven't been on this post for months and still the same issues

Since I have had my mother board replaced things have gone relatively smoothly but I still hold my breath with my e9180t. My oldest daughter wants to buy new laptop and after reviewing HP and Dell and the rest this diehard PC person has now decided that Apple is the future. I researched their customer satisfaction and how their customer service deals with things in general and they are like 80 some percent compared to HP and Dell in the 60 percent range. My guess is much lower depending on the poll. You can argue all you want about this but I know first hand how bad HP has continually handled issue after issue and after awhile here months later folks are still battling them and they are still treating folks poorly with third world tech support. The race to the bottom has yet to be decided since they continue this insanity. Dell has the same ideology from the complaints they get. Thank goodness there is a real option and that is Apple. Hp and Dell operate the same. I thought maybe try another brand like a Sony or other brand and buy it through Costco that has 90 day return policy but I really did not see any great deals and any great computers and more complaints. I think the standard for PCs are so low that no one really stands out anymore. Lenovo is owned by the Chinese now and things have not improved. With Steve Jobs coming back and breathing new life into Apple and the sucess of the ipod and the cutting edge technology that comes out of there consistantly it is hard to ignore. Yes they are over priced but so is all the software that you end up buying for PC's unless of course you have advanced skills and willing to work with linux which most folks aren't including me. Win 7 is expensive and so is Office 2007. I think the PC industry has slowly upped their prices to the point where we are now scratching our heads and wondering what happened. These crappy machines they sell us with 17 day return policies is beyond ridiculous. I have learned an 1800.00 lesson here and have and will not look back at PCs for a long time again. One of the advantages to a PC in the past was to be able to upgrade them but these mobos from HP are pretty packed tight with very little room to expand or upgrade. That argument doesn't apply anymore. Maybe HP and Dell can rely on the business sector to grow their business but I wonder if Oracle will successfully take a chunk out of that segment and with their aquisition of Sun maybe their linux software will be much more attractive compared to MS over priced versions. I am so tired of paying for Mr. Gates over priced products and he uses my hard earned dollars to write off as charity to third world countries for grants for all sorts of odd ball things. So are the Apples that over priced after all is said and done. I don't think so. Less issues with security, good customer support has a new meaning for me now that I have been through the ringer with HP with this expensive purchase I made. Can you imagine not being told that your version of Apple is not supported like we have to listen to that everytime we buy a computer with MS programs loaded into it because it is an OEM version. Can you say OH REALLY? My daughter has less time and patience for things that don't work right with working and finishing her Masters degree. She doesn't have endless hours to deal with the likes of India HP. She is willing to pay more for a more hassle free experience and I am the techie in the family making the arguement to go Apple for her technology needs like laptop and her next cell phone. My other daughter in college also has no geek leanings and also has less time to play the games these companies like to provide their customers. She took is no nonsense. The way HP and Dell and the other PC makers treat customers reminds me of those commercials on tv now that Ally Bank does where the guy deliberterly tricks the kids and the kids are confused by the guys mean tactics. That is how I feel about HP and MS.
