the computer turns on, fans run, but any monitor with any connection is blank and essentially the monitor says it is in power save mode. I just bought this Pavilion S5360F Slimline with Win 7 Premium, no recovery disc. I have the model that has a blu-ray/DVD writer and a 1TB HD. I removed the PCI Radeon graphics card hoping that it would revert to the integrated graphics, both the DVI and the VGA. I would think that at least I could get an initial screen image allowing me to check the BIOS settings, but the screen never shows anything. The flickering yellow light goes on and on but never seems to load, or since I can't see what is going on, what is going on. Any suggestions as to where to start to figure this out? Motherboard, HD, order a CD, memory, whatever? Thanks, Tab Davis

Disconnect the power, take off the CMOS battery and then connect the power back and push the power button once. Switch it off and then put the CMOS battery again. Remember to take out the graphics card and use the integrated graphics card. Also reseat the RAM (memory modules).

Some work ahead, tight space, will have to remove blue ray probably and possibly the HD, so will just go ahead and check those connections. So if this works and then I turn off, unplug power and reinstall the graphics card and/or the blue ray, will there be any issue with Windows starting up and recognizing them and reinstalling the drivers? Thanks, Tab Davis

No its should not be an issue recognising the devices. However i would also recommend you to reseat the memory modules. THe CMOS battery is also close to the RAM as you may see in this document
Please also look at the below document if you've missed any step during troubleshooting
Please write back in case you still have any issue.

I took half the computer apart to replace the CMOS battery and uninstalled all the memory and put them back in and carefully checked all the connections. The result, same thing, no monitor picture. I can see the monitor scanning through the connections, but if I disconnect the monitor, it goes into checking the connection that I had.
I read in one of the links that you submitted and remember seeing something about hitting the suspend button (I assume on the keyboard (where or what button that is it did not say and I do not know what the suspend key is, and I have tried repeatedly hitting F11. All the computere does is turn on and sit there as if it were perpetually trying to load something, I hear the HD spin and the flashing light flashes but never stops. I believe I am going to give up on this computer and just take a loss on it and wait until the next time comes around that I can afford to try and buy another computer and sell the various monitors I purchased trying to see if any of them worked. I would try to replace the HD, but everything, entirely everything is riveted into place and it took me 2 days just to cut enough rivets away to even get to the CMOS battery and the RAM. Thanks for your help, I sure appreciate it. Tab Davis

yes I have tried that and got a continuous beeping (when I pulled out the RAM and even reinstalled them one at a time to check that out) and I have already pulled out the graphics card a couple of times and no beeps or anything, but I had hoped to utilize the on-board graphics to access the BIOS, but the screen always remains blank, so cannot even access the BIOS. I also noted that the keyboard, and most likely the mouse (both USB) are not recognized, so am thinking that it is the MB. Thanks, Tab Davis

I tried that, and still got nothing. I do not remember if I tried to start the computer without the battery, so I might try that. I think I just changed out the battery and then turned the pc back on. I am assuming that I am correctly resetting the CMOS, but kind of hard to tell because there are two right next to each other and have thought about trying the ROM (ROM recovery I think I saw it called) resets, but there are four "links" right next to each other and god knows which combination would be the right one to do. This is why I am thinking that I might have to just find an acceptable MB replacement that would work in the place of the Violet6. Thanks for your suggestion. Peace, Tab

well I guess from the lack of response, I will assume the MB is bad. I had hoped for some suggestions on acceptable motherboards, but m thinking that I will just have to get a generic case and just start from scratch and ditch this one. Peace, Tab
