Why does my computer freeze up when i open a program and then tell me internet explorer has stopped

My pc will freeze when I go to open a program and will tell me internet explorer has stopped working. We are using Windows 7 and internet explorer 9...

Hcbooth, welcome to the forum.

 

I suggest trying Fierfox browser to see if that corrects your problem.  If so, you can reinstall IE to see if it removes the glitch.

Well I loaded Firefox and this time it told me Windows Explorer had stopped working when it froze
