computer is stuck on the blue screen "reboot and select a proper boot device..." error on a p6110y

That means it can not read the boot sector of the hard drive. Move the hard drive over to another desktop and attach it as a 2nd hard drive and do a check disk on it. If the drive is not spinning or is not recognized by the other machines bios, the drive has probably failed. If it is spinning and the bios recognizes it, the check disk will probably get it booting again.
