I'm trying to install a video card Radeon HD 5450 on my HP p6310f win 7 64, after installing the drivers a reset the system, just after the windows logo I only get a black screen, I can access in safe mode and see the card installed in device manager but I but that as far I can get without the performance of the video card, I have a 300 w if that help, also the video card is a pci-e x 16 v 2.1, im no sure if my MB supports 2.1 since it doesnt says the version, any help will be appreciated

Most AMD/ATI Radeon HD 5450 graphics cards have a minimum system power supply requirement of 350 - 400 watts. You may need a more powerful PSU for the HD 5450. The Corsair CX500 and CX600 are great choices that fit in your system. Please see Big_Dave's Guide for Selecting a Discrete Video Card for more information.

Thanks for the suggestion, I will try that, one thing that still bothers me is the version of the PCI-E on the MB, I read somewhere on that if the PCI-E is a v1 it will no support a PIC-E V. 2.1 which is the version that th HD 5450 has. Any thoughs on that?

Based on running CPU-z on my HP p6320y which has the same Violet6 motherboard as your p6310f, I would say the PCIe x16 slot is version 2.0
