my HP A6718 is making beeping noises, wont fully boot up [ Edited ]

I purchased my desktop 10 days ago and it's worked fine. .untill today, when I recieved a notification onscreen regards the hard drive. It mentioned something about faulty hard drives contained in some Hewlett Packard desktops. It advised to make some firmware updates. I did intend to as instructed, but then my desktop froze, it was not like an average freeze, as I got the distinct impression that no amount of waiting would help, so I performed a hard reset, disconecting via the mains supply. Now when I try to switch my PC on it sounds like it's starting normally for about 5 seconds, then I can hear intermittent beeps coming from the unit and the monitor does not respond.. Can anyone help?

Open the case and check to make sure all the cables are seated properly. Then remove the memory and reinstall it. Boot up and see what happens.
