my computer just shuts down when im on it it stays on for awhile then it shuts down

Hi,

 

What is your machine and its OS ? What are you doing when it shut down ? Most likely due to heat, keep it cooler may help:

I was having the same issue long ago, I changed the ram and the power supply to newer ones, that solved the problem.
