Joey, welcome to the forum.
Did you try uninstalling and reinstalling Chrome? Sometimes a glitch will occur during the original install. This can cause the problem that you are experiencing.
Also, you may want to try Internet Explorer or Firefox to see if you receive the same error message. This will tell you if it is a problem with Chrome or a system problem.

i tried that first . i beleive the problem may be my sound card as i removed my speakers and used the hmdi hook up for sound. no crashes since i adopted that soultion. however how do i test this theory of the sound card btw thanks for your imput.

Joey, good job ofl troubleshooting the problem.
Sound card drivers are notorious for conflicts with other drivers. They have definitely been link to BSOD's.
I would reconnect the speakers to the sound card. If you get the problem again, you will certainly have good reason to suspect the card. I suggest updating the driver to see if that makes a difference.
Is the sound card an add-on or the integrated sound on the motherboard?

i checked all the drivers and they are current. i have intergrated ati hmdi speakers. but i also have realtech hi def audio device which i beleive is a card hook up. and realtech hi def audio that wont start what its for i dont know unless its for the front auido hookup and another for the earphones which i thought was the front hook up. the purchase receipt says either intergrated 7.1 sound or sound blaster x-fi xtreme or the sb gamer verision we available. it also has a tv tuner hookup. anyway i repluged the speaker to the sound card and so far nothing bad has happened. if it crashes again i will open the back and clean it out and make sure the cards are all tight. i cleaned it out a few months ago and it was not bad after running over a year. so i dont beleive that is the trouble dirt. but perhaps it is loose. anyway thanks for the advice. i will let you know if anything else happens. it appears to be a card but i am unsure as i never paid it any attention when i had it open.

one more question as my computer has not done anything to make me believe something is wrong. as i remember i was on WGT a golfing game running on a flash drive. is it possible that the flash drive was having trouble and caused the crash.. btw i am 66 and not an expert but i can take a computer apart and put it back together again. i have installed hard drives graphic cards and do software repairs for folks in the neighborhood.
i have never experienced anything like this before except in win 95 way back when. thanks again for any advice and opinion joey

Joey, I, too, am 66 years old. Who says you can't teach an old dog new tricks.
The more complicated these contraptions get, the more this type of problem occurs. It seems to go with the territory.
Running a game from a flash drive could definitely cause unique problems. I have never tried it, but anytime you connect a drive indirectly, this creates new circumstances. I have been a gamer for many years. I was using a second drive to install my games, but decided to make more room in my mid-size case, so I removed the second drive. This increases airflow which is necessary for high-end gaming.
Good luck!

actually wgt is a golf game free. it runs on the internet using a flash drive for your computer. it runs better on chrome is why i was using chrome and i only use it for the game. if you liked to golf this game is great. you ought to try it if your a gamer. i got 2 slow for cod etc. but many many play this from around the world. i have had no further problems with my computer. so i think it was a freak deal. its been several days since the incident and i have done nothing else to my computer. anyway thanks for the help if you try the game out i am strikerseasy you can message me via the game. thanks again joeyw1
