HP p2-1317cb from Sams

I would like to upgrade my Windows 8 computer to Windows 7 so that it is more compatible with the programs that I run. However, there are no drivers for Windows 7 for the HP p2-1317cb.

Where can I find drivers for Windows 7? Please release drivers if none have been released so I can upgrade.

The primary program we are wanting to run on this systems is not compatible with Windows 8, and will not run in compatability mode. I've tried running it in a virtual system, but it als requires DirectX and a great deal of video memory.

After reformating, it looks like I only need a NIC driver, but having the best graphics driver would be nice.

Thank you,

By the way, this system is incredibly quiet!

Hi:

HP will never release windows 7 drivers for your PC.

You will be on your own to find drivers that will work.

I found some driver links that may work. I can't guarantee all of them will work though.

I take it you are/have installed W7 64 bit...

Chipset. Install first and reboot.

Video:

Try the Desktop Graphics auto detect and install method using the dropdown menu on the upper right of the page.

You can also try this video driver...

Audio:

Accept the agreement, download and install the second driver on the list.

Network: Try this one.

Re: HP p2-1317cb from Sams

Did you try Windows Update?

All the drivers are on Windows Update for this system.

Control Panel --> View by: Large Icons --> Windows Update

Re: HP p2-1317cb from Sams

Thanks for the response!

I got the chipset installed, but the audio and nic say the OS version does not meet the instalation requirements. I'm using Windows 7 Enterprise 64bit.

Any other help would be greatly appreciated.

Thank you

Jon

How am I supposed to use windows update if the NIC drivers aren't installed?

Re: HP p2-1317cb from Sams

Hi:

I would try manually installing the drivers.

Click on the ethernet controller in the device manager. Click on the driver tab. Click on Update driver. Select the "Browse my computer for software" method and browse to the installation folder that was created when you ran the package.

That folder will be located in C:\SWSetup\sp56617.

Make sure the include subfolders box is checked, and hopefully the driver will install.

Re: HP p2-1317cb from Sams

The packages do not extract before it errors out. Is there a program I can use to manually extract the package? Zip perhaps?

Thanks,

Good idea.

Use 7-Zip.  3rd download from the top (64 bit).
