I'm not able to get an answer in cnet.com or microsoft. I need to know how to change the BIOS.
Someone set up my computer to boot from the CD; now I'm having problems. I may have accidentally chosen the correct thing this morning but have not yet attempted to reboot to see if what I did was the right thing. I know I did not change the BIOs, but I'm told to change the BIOS, whatever that means. And to go to the manufacturer's Web site and find the model, then I should be able to find out how to do it. No luck there, either.
It's an epc40, running MS XP Pro w/SP3, Firefox (newest version), OpenOffice (I hate it!!)
Hope someone can help here.

At startup you should see the option on the HP logo screen-usually something like F2 for Setup, which is entering BIOS. However changing BIOS settings is not for the novice and can render a machine unbootable if you change the wrong setting.
Having the machine setup to boot first from cd doesn't normally cause a problem. The machine simply checks the cd drive first for a bootable disk and moves on to hdd to boot. What problem are you having?
