After wiping out Windows 8 and installing Windows 7 Home Premium 64 bit on a g7-2247us laptop, I find out that there are no Win 7 drivers available through HP. Can somebody point me to the correct Win 7 drivers for this laptop. HP technical support is unwilling to do so. I have tried multiple Wifi drivers and cannot get this machine to connect to a network, even though networks are visible. At present, I have a driver provided by Ralink Technology, Corp, Version 188.8.131.52 installed. It does not work. Thanks!

Visible how?...in Network and Sharing Center?...or via another device?

In Network and Sharing Center, then Connect to a Network, then Wireless Network Connection, I see the available wireless networks. However, when I choose a network and attempt to connect with the appropriate security key, Windows is unable to connect.

You can use all of the W7 x64 drivers and software from the g6t-2000 at the link below, except the wireless and bluetooth.
Your model uses the Intel HD graphics driver only.
DO NOT USE ANY BIOS OR FIRMWARE DOWNLOADS FROM THIS LINK
You need these drivers for the WLAN and BT:

I'm kind of surprised you'd get this far if the driver was bad. Do you have other devices successfully connected to this wireless network? You are confident in the password? You don't have access on the router controlled at the MAC level, right?

I downloaded and installed the WLAN driver (sp61411.exe). It does not work. I see the available network, but after I enter the security key, I get a window that reads "Windows was unable to connect to ..." This is the same response as before.
In Device Manager, my Network Adapter is listed as "Ralink RT3290 802.11 bgn Wi-Fi Adapter" and the installed driver is provided by Ralink Technology Corp, dated 11/25/2013, and the version is 184.108.40.206. This is the same version that I had installed earlier. I removed the hardware and specifically pointed to the Win7 folder in the sp61411 download and this same driver was installed.
I am able to connect to my wireless network with other devices wtihout a problem. When I look at my router configuration using another machine, it does list the PavilionG7 in the device list; however, it is offline.

That is interesting because the parts list for your build indicates it has an Atheros WLAN/BT card.
Scroll to the bottom of the page.
OK, now that we know you have a Ralink WLAN card for sure try this...
Uninstall the ralink wireless driver by right clicking on the adapter in the device manager and select uninstall.
Check the box to uninstall the driver as well.
Then download and install this wireless and bluetooth driver.
