I just checked the links and they are working for me, using IE9. They should work using Firefox too ,may have been a temporary glitch. If trying at a later time still doesnt work try clearing temp files and cookies.

I hope that HP is saving more money by hiring out of country tech helpers than it is losing by alienating it's customers. If not then I don't see much hope for HP in the future.

You will not be able to use F11 to go to the Recovery partition and recover your system because updating your Win 7 system to Win 8 disabled F11. Did you create Recovery Media before the update?

I am trying to restore my computer to its factory settings and the only option it gives me is to use recovery disc that I do not have and my drive does not work. How would I go about doing this
my computer is a hp touchsmart 300-1003

I see that you are having a problem with running a recovery on your HP computer. You will need to order the recovery discs from HP.
Here is a link to the HP website where you can order the discs.
