Please provide the: factory installed operating system (OS) ( Vista, Win 7, or Win 8,) and the product number for your computer. Is your OS version 32 bit or 64 bit? The product number can be found on the left side of the tower. Please see this article on determining if your OS is 32 or 64 bit.
It would be good to know if Win 8 is the original operating system and that you have not upgraded from Vista or Win 7. If you have upgraded from Win 7 to Win 8 the following method will not work. Open Recovery Manager as follows: Activate the Charms bar and select search, type recovery and then select Recovery Manager from the search results list.
Click yes at user prompt. Select Hardware Driver Reinstallation. Click next. Select IDT or, if you have realtek, select Realtek High Def audio.
Follow the prompts to reinstall the driver and reboot your system.
