Windows Explorer

I reinstalled Win 7 and now every morning Windows Explorer crashes. The event log says:

"The driver detected a controller error on \Device\Harddisk2\DR2."

Sometimes it comes with a Warning from Kernel-PnP Event ID 219 Task (212)

Anybody have an idea on how to fix this and what is causing it?

Thank you

Re: Windows Explorer

Just a guess but maybe you need a factory driver for your hard drive controller for windows 7 that doesn't come with it.

Try to update in device manager. That would be my first step.

Re: Windows Explorer

I have tried to update all drivers in the device manager but they all say that they are up to date......

Re: Windows Explorer

Maybe Microsoft doesn't have them.

Did you look for drivers at the hp site?

The first post says something about a card reader, I guess you need a lot of drivers.

Check and see if the ones from hp.com are newer.
