disk drive is not picking up or recognizing my disk I can't install software

I have a hp pavilion desk top computer I am trying to install windows office and when I put the disk in the disk drive it lights up but it isn't appearing on my computer to be installed..I don't think the disk drive is picking it up....

I would imagine that what is expected is refereed to Autorun.  It has been disabled by an update more than likely.  Double click on the CD/DVD drive in "My Computer" then either it will start or right click and pick "open" or "Explore" and then double click the setup file.
