All my programs are not listed where all the Windows tiles are. I found them once, but do not remember how I found them. Does anyone know how to get to them? With Windows 7, I clicked on Start, then on Programs, & they all came up. Thanks

HI Big_Dave. It helped, but still not what I'm looking for. I found the list once, but forgot how to find it again. I want the list that comes up on Windows 7 when you click on Start, get a list from there, & click on Programs. That brought up all the programs, etc. that is on your computer. Thanks.

I might not be understanding your explanation of missing list of programs.
You need to install a third part program to get a Windows 7 "look a like" view. Try Classic shell or Start8. I use Start8 and it beats the heck out of anything Windows 8 can offer natively.

HI. Sorry, I'm not good at explaining things. In windows 7, when The Start button is clicked, it brings up a pop up list of things, Programs, being one of them. When I clicked on that, it brought up a pop up with a big list of things - program downloads, accessories, etc. A lot of them had little arrows that would show other options when you hover the mouse over the arrow. I was messing around with the "Charms" icons, on Windows 8, & got that list, then also got another list on the left side of the comp. It was a list of al the downloads, etc. Well, I haven't been able to do that again. I can't remember what I did to get those pop ups of programs.
What is classic Shell & Sar 18? And what do they do? Sorry to be such a bother. I'm old & decrepid. Ha Ha. Thanks.

Start8 makes Windows 8 look like Windows 7. It's only $5 and there is a 30 days free trial.
You might try typing "apps" at the Windows 8 metro screen and then hit enter. You should get a full display of all of the installed applications.

Hi. Sorry. I don't know what the Windows Metro screen is. Is it the pg you get from clicking on Start & all the colored boxes come up? I don't see any place to type anything there.

Just click on an empty space on the screen with all the boxes and start typing. A text entry box will then appear in the upper right hand corner.
