I want to upgrade my husband's computer by adding more memory...right now he has 4GB. in specifications it says this computer supports 2 DIMM DDR3 sockets, PC 10600 DDR3-1333 or PC 12800 (DDR3-1600 I do not know whether the 4GB memory is a 10600 or 12800 that is already in the computer. Does it matter which one I purchase?

Both memories are compatible for your motherboard especially crucial certifies the dual voltage DDR3 PC3-12800 CL = 11, you should not mix two different voltage or lactation chip ..

http://www.kingston.com/us/memory/search?devicetype=2&mfr=HEW&line=Pavilion&model=82216
As you can see you have cgip of the same lactation but different voltage CL-11.
If you choose CL-9 it is also supported by your motherboard being more breastfeeding and faster in this aspect.

HI.
To know what kind of RAM you have to run this software and in the memory section look at the technical features, it is the best way to know:https://www.piriform.com/speccy
Since each type 10600 or 12800 varies in voltage.
