Sigh.  Maybe, the CD/DVD drive in your computer is the problem?

Would you happen to have an external DVD-reader/writer that would connect to a USB port on your All-In-One?

Can you borrow one from a friend?

If you can put the media into that device, and then boot from this device, you might have success in reading the media.

Hi @richpowers,

When do you get this error message? at the start or inbetween while running the recover?

See: http://h30434.www3.hp.com/t5/Notebook-Operating-System-and-Recovery/Error-Code-0xe0ef000e-Please-Hel...

In that problem, one of the DVD disks was "defective", and a new Recovery Set had to be ordered from HP.

On another computer, with at least 5 GB of "free" disk-space, insert your DVD disk, and try to copy "everything" from that media into a folder on your computer.  If it fails to copy, then the media is defective.

Click on the new folder, hold down the SHIFT key, and press the DELETE key, to delete the folder, without moving it to your "Recycle Bin", to reclaim the disk-space.

@richpowers

Also along with that, i would recommend you to run a test on your HDD & the DVD drive.

If they all pass, please run the recovery process again.
