783c, Pavilion, original configuration [ Edited ]

hi all, would like to thank everyone in advance for their help.

i am so frustrated with this endevor i could pull my hair out.

in a nutshell i am looking for a link so i might download the original software/applications that came with this machne. i am also interested in finding an owner's manual for the machine. i would like to find the specs for this machine so i might to max the ram out and reconstruct its original software/applications compliment.

what i have done.

i have searched round, and round, and round, and round, and round (hence the frustration) HP's support sites and found nothing on this machine. i am serious, according to HP this machine does not exist (wanna see a picture of it?).

the automatic product detection tool identifies the machine but finds no information on it.

when i do a manual search the model number is not listed.

i have managed to get windows xp home sp 3 on it (runs fairly well).

as near as i can tell it still has all the original hardware components.

p4 2.53GHz

512 mb ram

Here is a link to the product suport portal for your desktop PC.  Here are the specs. Unfortunately the maximum RAM supported on this PC is 1GB. The motherboard and interfaces are about five generations behind today's current PC standards. It will not be easy to find upgrade parts for the PC.

The original software should be on a disk that was delivered with the PC ten years old. 

There is a picture of the PC at the support portal.

You can order a complete set of HP Recovery Discs for the HP Pavilion 783c from ComputerSurgeons.com. These discs will contain all original software and drivers, including the original OS installation image.

hey, going to give kudos and accept as a solution.

i am still very curious as to why when i did a manual search i could not find any of the information and when i used the automatic product detector it returned with the messege "no information available for this product".
