CD or DVD drive will not read and will not spin

I have a Pavilion dv7-1279wm that I have bought within the last 3 weeks.  I put in a CD and closed the CD/DVD drive door.  As it was spinning I decided to listen to another CD therefore I quickly pushed the eject button and it ejected.  However when I went to put my next CD in, it would not read it.  For the past day it does not read any of my CD's both burned and purchased.  It spins when I put in a DVD but it does not read it.  However it only spins for about 1 second with a CD.

Please can you help.  My E drive is:  TSST Corp CDDVDW TS-L633L ATA Device.

Device manager says it is working perfectly--no yellow cautions.

I have Windows Vista 64 bit.  When I go under Computer it shows there is an E drive (an icon with a DVD symbol, yet when you put a CD or DVD in and click the icon for the E drive, whatever CD is in the drive is ejected saying there is no CD in the drive.  It appears that the drive did not recognize the disc.

Please help me..........I really need someone's help.

Try this.

Try:
Removing Upper and Lower Filters

Step 1:
Click Start > type "regedit" in the Start Search box, and then click "regedit" in the Programs list.
 
Locate, and then click the following registry subkey:

HKEY_LOCAL_MACHINE\SYSTEM\CurrentControlSet\Control\Class\{4D36E965-E325-11CE-BFC1-08002BE10318}

right-click UpperFilters, and then click Delete.

right-click LowerFilters, and then click Delete.

Step 2:
Click

Start, Right click on Computer and go to Manage, then in Computer Management, click Device Manager
 
Click

the "+" next to DVD/CDROM Drives and Right Click and Uninstall the Driver
and check "Delete the driver software for this device" and click Uninstall
 
Restart and Test the Drive ...

I think you should have that drive replaced. If software wise looks fine and driver is there but simply won't read/write properly just have it replaced.

I came across these types of drives before and u put in a disc and simply won't read it and auto run won't comeup.
