Yes, you are.
I'm checking to see if anyone has other suggestions.

Hi Madam,
Thank you for posting the issue.
If you have the printer connected to the computer via USB cable, please follow the steps given below:
1. Click on Start and in start search type devmgmt.msc and press ENTER.
2. In the Device Manger, you will find the entries with the name of the printer. Please check if there is any exclamation mark or a caution mark on that. If you find any entry with the exclamation or a caution mark, please right click on it and click on update driver.
3. Then click on browse and browse to the CD drive in which you have the driver CD inserted and click on OK.
4. You will have to this for all the entries with the name of the printer that has an Exclamation mark.

Hi,
Thank you for your reply.
Now you have the drivers installed. You can now start reinstalling. During the process of the installation, when you get the connection type, please select USB and the select the check box "will connect the device later" and continue with the installation. That will install the software. Once the software is installed, please restart the computer and you should be able to print and scan.
