Cant load audio drivers for a HP DC7600 CMT

Hello all

I have a HP DC7600 CMT with Windows XP with SP/3.  The COA on the desktop is for Windows XP.  I loaded the system then went to load the drivers from the HP site.  The audio and video drivers were only available for the Vista operating system.  I was able to load the video drivers by choosing the XP operating system, but cannot load the audio drivers.  Is there a way to load the audio drivers another way?

Thanks for any suggestions

Kevin

Here is it:  http://h20000.www2.hp.com/bizsupport/TechSupport/SoftwareIndex.jsp?lang=en&cc=us&prodNameId=472278&p...

You need to select the universal or realtek.

Re: Cant load audio drivers for a HP DC7600 CMT

Hi, Kevin:

I have a dc7600 CMT with XP also.

Here is the link to all of your XP drivers:

http://h20000.www2.hp.com/bizsupport/TechSupport/SoftwareIndex.jsp?lang=en&cc=us&prodNameId=472278&p...

What I suggest you do on Monday is to order a set of Quick Restore disks for your PC from HP. Cost is only $10. You pop in the setup disk, then pop in the OS disk and your PC is done and ready to go like the day if was shipped from the factory.  No need to look for drivers.

Here's how to get yours:

1.  Write down the part number and serial # on top of the computer on the silver tag.  The model # is an HP-Compaq dc7600, but the part number will be found on that silver tag below the serial #.

2. Call HP at 1-800-952-7689, option 1 (ordering restore disks is part of the list in the option).

3. Provide the info asked by the rep that answers the phone. Some just ask for the serial #, some want both, or they will just want the serial number and type of computer (dc7600).

4. Have a Master Card or Visa ready for purchasing. They don't take Discover. You will be charged $10.00.

You will receive the disks by First Class Mail or you can pay an additional $10.00 for FedEx shipping.

By the way, the dc7600 runs Windows 7  32 or 64 bit just great (as long as you have one of the Pentium 4 600 series processors installed, or the Pentium D). However you will need to download and install the latest Realtek driver for Windows 7 from the link that CherylG posted  above, or your internal speaker will not work.
