Re: DVD Play on Windows 7

Without knowing which product you have and whether it will be compatible with Windows 7.  Conditionally, you may be able to upgrade the BD player.  You will first want to run the upgrade advisor from Microsoft to see if you PC is compatible with Win 7. The advisor will also identify software apps and hardware that won't work with 7.  You will need Windows 7 drivers and Windows 7 application upgrades for the Vista apps and drivers you already have on the PC.  I would recommend checking the product page for your product on HP.COM to see if there are Windows 7 drivers and application upgrades that you can download..  If we have a Windows 7 upgrade for the HP DVD /BD play application you will find it there.  Assuming the PC is compatible, you will want to do the upgrade install of Windows 7.

Re: DVD Play on Windows 7

ColdGhost,

sounds like you can upgrade to Win 7.  After completing your Windows 7 upgrade, it would still be worthwhile to go to HP.COM and enter your model number in the search box to get to the support and troubleshooting page for your product, then select software and driver downloads.  Look under Windows 7, 32 or 64 bit (depending on the version of Windows 7 you're upgrading to), then look under "Software-Multimedia" and you should find the HP DVD play update for Windows 7. Download and install that update and you should be able to view Bluray disks in Windows 7.
