Did HP Win7 free upgrade, lost disk and product key, wat do?

I'd like to install the Win7 64-bit that I received from HP via its free upgrade from vista program in 2009 on a new SSD for the HP. However I realized that since my computer came with vista, the vista product key stuck on the side of my computer probably isn't the correct one to install Win7 64-bit.

Is there any way for me to get the Win7 64 bit product key from HP? Thanks.

Hi,

The free upgrade was only offered during a "timed period".  I might be wrong but the "timed period" has expired.

If you lost the disc and/or product key... there is nothing HP can do for you. The upgrade was administered by a third party and it is likely that HP doesn't have this information.

If you have an active Window 7 installation from that disc and key, you may be able to recover the key using a utility that can be found on the internet. Outside of that, look really hard for the disc and key.
