Diffculty getting printer to print photos in color

What am I doing wrong?  I am trying to print a photo in color but will only print in black & white.  I have set the printing preferences

to print borderless photos, installed a new color cartridge, realined the printer for the new cartridge.  The printer is a

HP Photosmart C4680.  Computer is a HP Pavilion HPE-500y with Windows 7 operating system

I have solved my problem.  Even though I had set the printer preferences to print

color photos, the print utility was apparently over riding it to print "fast economical

printing"  thus black & white.
