Re: Download recomended HP updates.

For some versions of Windows:

Click on the symbol in the lower left corner of the screen.  In the search box, type HP Update.  If one of the items it finds is a program named HP Update, click on that item.  Click on Next.

If that doesn't work for you, we need more details on what version of Windows you are using in order to provide a better answer.

Re: Download recomended HP updates.

There are some updates that I need to download but I don't know which ones.  How can I check for updates and download them?

Re: Download recommended HP updates.

The usual way:

Click on the Windows symbol at the lower left of your screen.  Type either HP Update or Windows Update into the search box, depending on which kind of updates you need.  When a program by that name appears higher in this window under Programs, click on it.  Any steps after that should be rather obvious.

If this doesn't find all the updates you need, you may need to reboot your computer and run this update program again.

If this isn't enough of an answer for you, mention which version of Windows you have on that computer, and what program you need to update.

I would click the "accept as solution" button if there were one.

Re: Download recommended HP updates.

The Windows Update program labels some of the updates as important, some as recommended, and some as optional.  Use this when deciding which to place a checkmark before to tell the program which to download, if the checkmarks don't appear automatically.  Scroll to the bottom of the list to find the OK button that tell it you finished applying checkmarks for this page and are ready to go back to the page with a button to tell it to download and install all the updates you have approved.  Note that there is an average of about one important update a week, and the list builds up if you haven't installed the ones from previous weeks.

I don't recall if the HP Update program does the same, but it offers few enough updates that you might as well install all the updates it offers.

The accept as solution button is usually available only for the person who started the thread.  The Kudos button will have to do if you did not start the thread.
