Enable Console in game on a6109n Desktop

I have the a6109n HP desktop with Vista 32bit Home Premium and I cant get the Console to open in any games except for Call of Duty 2. I have tried everything all the other sites say and it says to disable infrared recievers and all that and there were no choices for that specifically but i did manage to disable some media reciever but it did not help. I figured this site would have the answer since it is specifically aimed at HPs which may be set up differently then other computers.

The in-game console command can be different depending on which game you're playing.  Have you checked the game options to verify that you're using the right key/key combination?

Yeah there is usually a box that you can check to allow console in game but the game im trying to enable it in is Fallout 3 and theres no option to do so.

Hi, I know exactly what you need. I play Fallout 3 as well and it took me 1 day to find out how to get to the console to enable cheats.

You press the ~ key next to the number 1 when you're at the main menu screen. This doesn't work while you're in the game loaded it only works before you start playing.

So press ~ at the menu, then type "tgm" for toggle god mode and press ~ again to get out of the console. That's what i use. Unlimited ammo and health.

By the way, the console doesn't work if you're using an xbox 360 controller like. You gotta unplugg the controller, then go to console type your cheats, then reconnect to the controller back and load the game.

NOTE: I like the game so far. I actually didn't know I had to go to Megaton in the beggining and I wondered off for 5 hours exploring other places. It took me a while to find out about those white triangle indicators and how you're supposed to use the Pepboy world map and quest tab to show locations and work on quests the right way.
