I bought my Pavilion 6180t not long before Windows 7 was released. I bought it then instead of waiting until Windows 7 came out because my old desktop was dying quickly and HP was offering free upgrades to Windows 7 when it did get released.
Somewhere along the way, we had a new baby, so the upgrade was low priority. Now that he's over a year old, I have just a little more time, and I really want to get that machine upgraded and running the way it should, so I went to the upgrade site and find that the program is discontinued.
WOAH! That wasn't part of the deal I thought I was making with HP. I bought my PC with the understanding that I could upgrade it to Windows 7 at the point of my choosing, not that I had a finite window (that was not clearly stated) in which to do the upgrade. If I had known the rug would be pulled out from underneath me, I would have limped along and waited to buy until 7 was in the builds.
Can anyone advise? I really don't want to pay another $119 for a machine I thought I'd already paid for.
I'm a very loyal HP customer--every home and work piece of computer equipment is HP. I still even carry an iPAQ hx2795. All because HP always backed up their products with me.
