Hi there,
I am at my wits end here trying to get help for this, I have been in touch with HP, who then sent me to NVIDIA, who then sent me back to HP because I have to find out if it is possible that the NVIDIA card in my machine differs from the retail version pf the same card? Which is NVIDIA GEforce 405.
The only people who can ansewr that is HP, but bexcause I bought my PC form PC world and HP will not have the decency to answer that simple quesstion, "Can the card in my machine differ fromthe retai version?) I mean like PC worlds gonna know? It is HP who made my PC. I am really disapointed with HP, avoiding such a simple question on the phone.
The thing is I have a blu ray drive in my PC and I have been triyng to get the HD master audio from my blu ray discs without success and I have had support from various sources and finally I am told by a man from NVIDIA that the card in my machine can differ from the retail version of the card? If this is the case and my machine can not play HD master audio because of this surely it is a mistake? Because Wy put a blu ray drive into a PC with HDMI outputs for HD sound and not put the correct card in the machine that supports HD master audio or dolby true HD? Which is only available on blu ray discs by the way, that has to be a mistake or an act of complete lunacy...but of course I have to get that verified from HP that my NVIDIA card does not support HD master audio althought the retail version of hte same card does?..But trying to get help from HP is like hitting my head against a brick wall...I have gotten no where....this will be the last time I EVER buy a PC with the HP name on it...not even a bottle of sauce...totaly useless to get an answer to a simple question...
I bought the reciever that can handle HD audio and expensive sound set up ...a. load of blu ray discsc...and filnally a pc that has a blu ray drive...and still 5 months later I still can not get the PC to give me all the features that blu ray has to offer like HD master audio....and yes I ahve tried 3 different softwares and set the aproppriate settings in the sudio menus...but nope...not working...I think it is because my card does not support although the retail version does...but again I have to know if HP has put in a different version of the card from the retail version...but since HP will not help me answer such a simple question all becuase of where I bought my pc from. I am stotally stuck and do not know what to do.
So here I am on this site hoping...if I get no luck from my second email to the CEO and from this I will be taking my PC back as it is unfit for puprose and I will NEVER EVER buy a product from HP again. It is so unbelievable that I can not get the support I require to get my blu rays up and running the way they are supposed to, the support I have had form various places they do not seem to know much about and HP are just palming me off and I am not happy about it all.

Hi cherryboots,
This is a peer-to-peer community of HP customers, and not a venue to contact HP directly. Most of the users here are consumers like yourself who are offering solutions because they like to help others, and any HP employees you see are here on their own capacity and not representing the company.
If you have additional or direct feedback for HP about their products or services, or questions about repair, you can use the link below for contact information.

That is no good becuase when I put in my product it says my prodcut is not recongised but thanks anyway. Also because of that I emailed the CEO twice the first time he got NVIDIA to get in touch with me, then NVIDIA told me to contact HP to see if the card in mymachine is different fromthe retail version...I also called HP today here in Scotland and they told me all becuase I bought my PC form PC world they wil not answer that question, well I have already asked PC world and they also told me to get in touch with HP..I am so frustrated and....wel agitated becuase I can not get the answer to a simple question becuase of where I bought the **bleep** pc so I am taking it back and I am going to trading standards if the card in my machine does not bear the same spec as the card that is supposed to be in my machine..of course I have to find that out first.
For a start my graphics card has 2 fittings ont he back but when you go on to the NVIDIA web site and look at the overview for that card it is supposed to have 3 fittings not 2...so it certainly appears to be different even visually...but I want HP to admit that befiore I can get them for product misrepresentation...or maybe it was a mistake..hmmm...possible I suppose.

by the way it says bleep that's not becuase I swore ..obviousy becuase I put where I bought the PC....but surely the CEO has egg on his face after getting NVIDAI to get in tough with me then NVIDIA telling me to get in touch with HP.
I have been tryiong to get this thing to worrk for almost 5 months now..so yes I Am pretty annoyed about it and the fact I am not getting an answer to such a simple question...ok I might buy HP sauce again but that's it..the rest of their junk they can keep it...or else get decent tech support guys that can actually help you with the problem. It seems I know more about it than them, which is shocking as I am Claire...so if you follow what IA m saying it is really disapointing that no ojne can help me with this problem, even in the store where I bought my PC when I ask them about it...thgey look confused when I mention HD master audio....I can not be the only person on the planet that uses HD master audio....come on.
