HP Advisor has stopped working properly

The HP Advisor starts up OK at startup but if you try to do anything with it, it gets an error trying to run batch file and terminates itself. I have been trying to run HP Update from the PC Alerts function and these are the results I get. The alert function indicates that I need to run the update function.

Check your drivers page for an updated version of HP Advisor. Found by using "Support & Drivers" button at top of this page.

Hi Cheryl, I tried looking at "Support /Drivers", but the only thing available for my system was an update for LightScribe. Do you have a link that I can re-install it? I uninstalled it thinking I could reinstall it, but I can't find that link anywhere.
I have a Compaq Presario SR2173 WM desktop w/ IE 7 pk 2. I sure hope you can help. Thank you in advance. DE

Hi,
There is a known issues with the HP Advisor Software and the HP Update Application and Hp is working on the same, we can expect for a solution soon.
Even though you can try with the patch sp43112.exe and sp40845.exe and if the issues are resolved then fine else to wait for HP to get the bug fixed.

Hi tech_net, thank you for the reply. I wil try the patch but it doesn't sound too promising since HP is having problems with it.
How do I find out when the bugs are worked out? I really miss it

Hi,
For this issue you could tried uninstalling and reinstalling HP advisor. You can go to Programs and Features and tried to uninstall it.. Then go to this website http://h20000.www2.hp.com/bizsupport/TechSupport/S
