Hi, I have an HP Slimline s3330f vista media center (VMC), running HP DVD Play (v2.42 build 5820). It plays Blu-ray. I have it connected to TV via HDMI and I have digital audio (S/PDIF) going directly from s3330f to my digital receiver.
Blu-ray discs do play though VMC when I select the "HP DVD Play" item from the VMC ribbon. The problem is there's a blue border around the movie. It's as though the movie is not playing in full-screen (there's a 2" blue border). Now, I know that this blue border is the VMC screen in the background. Also, as a test, I stopped VMC, and launched HP DVD Play directly to play a blu-ray movie - it works perfectly.
Any idea how to get rid of the blue-border (in other words, make HP DVD Play use full screen when VMC is running)?
Notes:
-VMC setup to use a flat-panel widescreen TV
-VMC is setup as 1080i
-nvidia drivers are setup to 1920 x 1080 res
-nvidia drivers are setup to use HDTV 1080i (and I've also tried 1080p, 1080p/24, same result).

Ok, I seemed to have fixed the problem. However, I did a handful of changes and I'm not exactly sure which change really fixed the problem. Here's what I did:
- updated to latest Nvidia drivers
- removed the Realtek audio drivers and reverted to the default Microsoft HD Audio drivers (this, BTW, got DD 5.1 to work via S/PDIF)
- implemented the registry changes (see here: http://thegreenbutton.com/forums/thread/278165.asp
- re-installed HP DVD Play (latest version)
I suspect it was the registry changes that fixed the issue.
