HP Pro 3400 Desktop - XP Drivers.

i am not sure 100% for this but i must report,  today i have seen in the device manager in other devices "SM BUS Controller" with exclamation mark, this most probably happened after installing the above referenced file IN3AUD01WW1.exe from lenovo for the audio,  i may saw it but thought it means smart media (which i disconnect its cable now). if you have winrar, right click on IN3AUD01WW1.exe and choose extract here (in a folder) to see that there is files 92HD89CX.ini, 92HD89X.ini while hp elite 7300 supposed file is IDT 92HD89E, but it works. the lenovo file may change something other than audio. so when i have reinstalled the chipset file sp50888.exe for xp the sm bus controller go to the correct place in the system devices as: "Intel(R) 6 Series/C200 Series Chipset Family SMBus Controller - 1C22"

Hi!  Thanks for the links (and yes, I know this post is old, but I'm still hoping...).  The graphics driver link is no longer valid and I cannot find an xp graphics driver that will work on my HP Pro 3400 desktop.  Everything else works fine.   I was wondering if you/someone else can remember which driver worked--I tried several drivers on the Intel site but none of them worked...

Hi Paul -- thanks for the quick response.  I tried that driver (and some other HD drivers on Intel's site) and I get the following error if I install it via the installer-wizard:  'The driver being installed is not validated for this computer.  Please obtain the appropriate driver from the manufacturer'.  If I install it by browsing to the driver file itself, it finds the Intel HD Graphics Family, but Device Manager (even after reboot) shows it with a yellow exclamation mark.

Hmmmm...

Seems odd that once there was a driver that worked and now on a dead link. I'm sure it had to be the HD driver.

Anyway, see if this one from an 8200 Elite which has the similar HD graphics chip works since the driver was made for HP.

Note that you need to have MS net framework 3.0 or higher installed before loading this driver.

Here's the link to 3.5 of you haven't installed MS net framework.

Also, I hope you are on XP SP3.  Problems can result if you're not.

Actually, nevermind -- I needed to remove all Intel graphics software from the Add/Remove Programs, before it would take the new driver.  After doing that, I was able to install the driver by browsing to driver file (the executable still would not work, so I downloaded the zipped version of it, which gave me access to the driver files directly).  After a reboot, all is well.   Thanks again!
