Just got a Mini 110-1125NR running Win7. When running HP Support Assistant "Health Analysis", it get stuck at the Downloading Updates stage. HP Sup Assistant is cleared for internet access on the firewall.
HP friends, what's up? Any solution?

Any news on this problem yet?
I have the exact same problem, on a HP Compaq Presario machine straight out of the box!
The health check gets stuck and needs to be closed by windows.
(And it is not hindered by the firewall).
Additionally, upon first shutdown, Windows 7 complained that the HP software (advisor, dock, support assistant, I do not remember which) required something "no longer available in this version of windows". I will attempt to contact HP support about these problems, but I would rather just uninstall all HP components on this machine, as they are interfering heavily with normal windows 7 setup&use. What is holding me back right now is the deep level at which HP has incorporated this software. If anyone has tips on specifically the original healthcheck problem, or experience with the heavy solution: uninstalling all HP support components, I would be glad to know.

I had a similar problem so I did an Uninstall/Reinstall of HP Support Assistant.
Here are the steps I used:
1. Go to add/remove programs in WinVista/Win7.
2. Remove HP Support Assistant OR Remove HP Active Support Library AND HP Help and Support
3. Clear out your temp folder. (Usually, c:\temp or c:\windows\temp)
NOTE: You may not be able to delete all of the files/folders in your temp folder, this is normal.
4. Reboot
6. Install HP Support Assistant (from the link above)
7. Reboot
8. Then run HP Support Assistant.
Let me know if this works... Hope it helps!

I did as suggested (uninstalled, cleaned out temp folder, reinstalled first with the sp45005.exe file). Didn't fix the problem.
Next I did this with the sp44460.exe file. Still nothing.
Darn.

Both softpaq 44460 and 46005 support 32 and 64 bits.
44460 is for consumer desktop users
46005 is for any notebook users

I even tried the 4.1.11.3 vesion from this site
http://www.soft-go.com/download_driver/HP-Support-
Nothing. Still hangs up at the "Gathering information" stage. Clearly something is seriously wrong here.
Have spoken to HP Tech Support and they are clueless. Keep offering to restore my machine to the state it was in when shipped from the factory. I would lose all my installed programs and customization, with no assurance that the restore would fix the problem.
