HP Pavilion Elite e9220y PC, running Windows7 professional, 64-bit. First error msg "HPSF.exe not working".
After visit to forum (not registered) and trying to solve HPSF problem, I progressed to trying to replace the HP Support Assistant. Somewhere along the line the HP Support Assistant disappeared from the list of programs when I tried to uninstall but the Assistant is still here. Then I tried to replace the Assistant first with sp54931.exe then sp53904.exe only to be told that my system did not meet minimum requirements for the installation. I'm thoroughly confused. All help will be appreciated

HP Pavilion desktop p7-1027c Windows 7 64 bit Intel i3 6 GB ram
same exact problem here as well. Downloaded the update files for the HP support assistant, as i has not worked since I bought the machine 4 weeks ago. I got two different errors, one was "sys does not meet the minimum requirements for this update - has been cancelled (1602)
the other error, when using another update file (dont ask me why the HP site offered me another file, but there is another one, which is slightly different, with the same name.) Anyhow, this one gave me an error during installation as follows: HP support assistant application update did not complete successfully. (1152)
model # p7-1027; Product #: QN644AAR#ABA;
core i3 - 2100; 3.1 GHz
6 Gb RAM DDR3 - 1333
