HP a1477c shutdown

My HP a1477c just shuts down suddenly without warning. It runs on Windows XP.

Hello cecil374, Usually when this occurs, the first thing that comes to mind is a heat issue.

I would disconnect the power cord, and remove the panel of the case and clean the inside of the case, paying particular attention to the heatsink/fan assembly of the processor.

You may want to acquire some canned compressed air to remove the dust/dirt from the heatsink/fan assembly.

Then reinstall the side panel, and connect the power cord and see if this resolves the shutdown issue.

I cleaned my fan again and removed the fan and reinstalled it. But now the PC runs but nothing comes up on the screen. All lights and fans are working though.
