Hi,
I have a HP Media Center PC m8000. It currently has Windows 7 Home Premium 32-bit. I would like to install a 64-bit Windows 7 so that it can take advantage of more memory. Currently the PC has 3GB . I would like ot upgrade to atleast 6GB RAM.
Please advise on whether I can perform an upgrade to Windows 7 Home Premium 64-bit ?
Thanks,
AS

At present Microsoft Windows 7 32/64 bits can only deal with 4Gb of memory for general use.
Windows 7 has been for sometime now in version 32 or 64 bits, that is from late 2009.

Dear DaniW,
Sorry, but this link does not work. I have a reliable (old?) hpofficejet 4110 all-in-one. I've upgraded to a new computer running on Windows 7, with MSOffice 2010. My officejet can now no longer scan anything, and it cannot print any Excel file that isn't created in MSOffice 2010. Re-saving 2003-2007 Excel files to 2010 version still does not help with the printing.
This website link you have posted very encouragingly says that Windows 7 will automatically upgrade all drivers. This has happened, but the above problems are still encountered though I can print word and adobe docs. I am heavily in need of the scanning feature each month for receipts and invoices.
There is no downloadable fix, and I having been waiting now for 3 months. I really wish hp would apply themselves to creating a fix.
Thanks.

This forum seemed the most appropriate place to post this. I searched through all 19 pages and didn't see any similar message with the problem I have.
Got a used HP m7250n Media Center pc which came with XP Media Center edition. I backed it up with Acronis and then put Win 7 on it - no errors during installation. Noticed that the speaker icon in the Tray had the red X on it. The windows 7 troubleshooter said that it couldn't detect any speakers or headphones connected. But there are powered speakers connected at the back which worked with XP.
Any ideas why Win 7 thinks the speakers are not connected?
Device Manager shows the correct Sound Controller installed. I went to the HP drivers site for the m7250n and the only file listed is for the Lightscribe drive.

Have you checked that the mute box is not checked. Control Panel> Sound> Change system sound> Playback> Speakers should show as plugged in> Realtek digital output (or similar) default is ticked.

Thanks for the reply .... there was no "Change System Sound". From clicking on Sound it brought up a window with Playback and it showed that no headphone was plugged into the front 3.5mm jack. I had already tried plugging in headphones there without success. Also I could find no reference to anything named Realtek.
Other suggestions welcomed.

Ok, mystery solved. After I wrote that there was nothing named Realtek to be found among the Sound searches a light bulb came on. I went to Realtek's website and downloaded the driver for the Realtek High Definition Audio .... installed it and Voila!

Hello. I need to ask you something.
I currently have installed Windows 7 Professional 64bit the version 14.0 of HP Digital Imaging Monitor, however, often, even if the PC is not doing anything, that the corresponding indicator light flashes repeatedly to the use of HDD and the PC is unusable, in short, as if there was something running that uses all the RAM (6GB).
I write in this forum because I tried to format but the problem seems to me that it is resubmitted since I reinstalled HP Digital Imaging Monitor.
Have any of you had the same problem?
