Hello, all. Looking for a little bit of guidance here; any and all assistance is very much appreciated.
I have an HP Pavilion9100t desktop that I purchased in April 2008. I successfully installed (with absolutely no driver issues) the Windows 7 Release Candidate in a dual boot (dual-drive) configuration with the native install of Windows Vista.
After I purchased a retail copy of Windows 7, I made the decision to do a clean install of Windows 7 on the same hard drive as Windows Vista. Again, no problems, and I'm very happy with the performance of my Windows 7 install.
I would now like to install the supplemental applications (among them a media player that supports Blu-Ray playback, which Windows Media Player does not) that came with my original Vista build. I can see them compressed in separate directories on the Recovery Partition.
So therein lies my question.
How can I selectively install the applications that I want to move to Windows 7?

I have a TouchSmart IQ506 with Vista 64 that I recently upgraded to Win 7. I then applied all the reccomended drivers from your site and as a result, the driver for NVIDIA GeForce 9300M GS (sp44488) doesn't work correctly with Win 7 Aero. Fortunatley I was able to get a suggestion that worked in the Forums, but HP needs to correct sp44488.

HP is getting everything prepared for the global launch of Windows 7 on Thursday, October 22, 2009. You can expect to receive your upgrade kit between October 30 and November 9, 2009.
If your shipping address has changed since you originally placed your upgrade order for Windows 7, it’s important that you contact us to update your shipping details before Friday October 16, 2009. Following this date, your address information cannot be modified, as HP will be preparing your order for shipment.
On the 30th the Upgrade Kit was in my mailbox. I followed all of the instruction which came with the 2 DVD Kit. I was successful with the upgrade albeit there were a few issues. Now it appears I was among the first to receive the Kit and that could explain the few issues I had. But I have to say two things this is the most complicated upgrade I've ever had to perform
!. Follow the instructions you do not want to have to roll the OS back to Vista 64
2. After the installation the HP Upgrade did not pickup the upgraded software on the support page I had to DL them manually
All in all Windows 7 and the HP software are rocking, as in rock study and very fast. I have a e9110t that I've added an additional 2G of ram to max it out, a second 750 HDD, an external 1T HDD and a Nvida 250 setting in the box I'm going to install this weekend.

I am extremely disappointed with the Windows 7 Upgrade program. This was promised. ARVATO is terrible. I have spent a lot of time on the phone arguing with them. Why am I arguing and spending time on hold for a simple OS CD mailing? I get emails saying I am both denied AND approved and they don't know what is going on and my order sits in pending for weeks. Why are you arguing with customers who have valid receipts, serial numbers, and meet the program requirements? Why is more order just sitting there in pending even after they agree to ship?
Get this fixed quick.

lindae123,
I have to agree no one was told the upgrade would be sent out on 10/22. The email stated the kit would be sent out between 10/30 and 11/9 with the unstated implication it would depend on when you completed the upgrade request. Interesting these guys are so disappointed, what would they be if they had received the kits and found some of the features did not work and some of the updates would not install properly? They might want to consider the powers that be actually read or receive input from the forum and are trying to get things together. If they can't get the email straight chances are they would have a problem with the kits?
