Sorry to hear that. But can you please post the rest of the error message? I mean the exact error. It should show you what is missing or what's wrong.
I would call Microsft on this and ask for assistance. ![]()

My Pavilon computer is used only to run special EEG recording applications and has gone online only for brief moments to download and install software of that type. (I use two other sepaqrate computers dedicated to email//internet and bookkeeping,) Recently I fouled up the Pavilion by uninstalling various things such as ceratin HP "help" software that had come with the machine when I bought it and other stuff that I thought I didn't need or want. I manage to get some things working again by reinstalling certain items, but found that my EEG applications were no longer fully functional, SO NEXT (!) after making an external copy of the hard drive,I tried a clean install of WIN 7 with a newly purchased Win7 disc However, when the instalation program, listed the partitions, it showed no way to delete their contents, and it left all the hard disk files intact except for putting the old Win 7 files in a special "old" folder. Although the new installation appears to work SO FAR, but I would still like to be able to do a really CLEAN install. First question: HOW CAN I DO A TRULY CLEAN INSTALL?
l say "SO FAR" above bcause I don't have the access I need to the internet to reinstall my EEG applications; In Device Manager, Ethernet Controller is "yellow"..Having identified the hardware as RealTek, I next found that the RealTek download did not provide the needed driver but rather a setup program called Drive Tuner which I guess can get the driver for me over the internet. However, I can't do that unless I have the driver installed to begin with. Second question: IS THERE SOME OTHER WAY TO INSTALL THAT DRIVER ?
Third question: IS THERE SOMETHING DIFFERENT I SHOULD BE DOING?
