How do I do windows 7 clean installation on new hp?

I just purchased a H8XT.  It came loaded with a bunch of junk software.  I want to format the hard drive and reinstall windows 7 myself.  However, the computer did not come with the operating system disc.  How do I go about doing this?  My last computer was a Dell which came with the Operating System software and this was fairly straight forward.  I don't know how to do this without the Operating System discs.  Thanks.

Jack, welcome to the forum.

You should make the Recovery Discs.  This will allow you to repair you system if you have problems.  However, you can't install any separate program, including the operating system, with the discs.  The only way to it is to buy a full version of Win 7.

As o_g suggested, create your HP Recovery Disc first.

Download the ISO (disc image) of Windows 7 Home Premium 64bit from a Microsoft download partner company named Digital River. Once this is downloaded, you need to burn the image onto a DVD to make a bootable Windows 7 installation disc.
